Blackout.

Beauty sucks her thumb. Knows her mother saw.
She looked trying to make up the time she lost chasing want.

You said no.
You had to know sometimes I felt like I had no choice too.
I worked so hard.

A mistake was a brain-dead accessory.
Shapes in the trash can.
Whispering adjusted this afternoon.
Not thinking sooner.

Few establish heaven.
They point, look, and carry everything above them.
I can't stand to watch this anymore.

I'm gonna reach the street, the window.
Would you mind showing me where you left?
His hands just ran outside for a second.
So where is the stop?
The man stared blankly into eyes.

  1. Oh my hell. Is this the clique? I read those. Your blackouts are amazing. Much better than the original book.

    I loved this one.

    1. Hahaha yes, it is The Clique: Revenge of the Wannabes. Confession: when I was doing my blackouts, I ended up rereading the book for three hours last night. Not quite as good as I remembered.

Middle school: Those were the days.

    2. Haha it was terrible. I re-read the hush hush series over spring break. I guess I didn't care about anything other than the romance back then, because I never noticed how illogical and whiner the protagonist was and how "I wrote myself into a corner" the plot was. The clique was always just ridiculous. WAIT do you remember friend me and besties? An summer in the city and kissed by an angel? Back when we had somewhat of an unofficial book club?

    3. YES. I still have one of Jessica's books in her closet. The one about meeting the lady on the plane who prophesied about the three boys she would meet over the summer. I remember we were all obsessed with "Kissed by an Angel," but if I read it now, I probably wouldn't like it. I just was desperate to read any books with romance in it because it was so far removed from my life and I had to live through the life of the characters.

    4. Beach blondes or something, yes? And I own kissed by an angel. I think I let my friend borrow it, though, unless it's just hiding from me. I'll find it if you want, though :)

    5. This is one of the most interesting literary conversations I've heard in a while. I'm not joking. Thanks.

    6. Confession. I may have removed the title page of a library copy of Kissed By an Angel.

    7. You guys abused that library. Eggs in the bushes, ripping pages out of books.... Why was I the only one who actually liked the library? And also, you ripped the page out of Jess' copy. You probably took the title page of some other book, though.
